Gabriel Rice, a graduate of Wayne State University with a BFA in technical theatre, joined the Cross Light team at the beginning of 2017. When he was only 12 years old, Gabe built his first homemade lighting rig using coffee cans for fixtures and a repurposed Casio keyboard as a controller. Gabe’s professional lighting career began by lighting parties and events in Detroit. From there he moved on to designing nightclubs, working in theatre, and eventually designing stages for touring acts as well as lighting stages and art installations for major music festivals. Gabe’s most recent professional role was as a lighting systems designer and integrator, which led to his involvement with Cross Light. Gabriel’s passion for lighting has persisted and grown since he was a child, and is evident in his commitment to helping clients find solutions to all of their lighting, rigging, and control needs.
